fresh milk, local roots.

Fresha Valley began in Waipu Northland, in 1988 when Paul Jensen and George Stoddard set out to do things differently.

What started as a small goat’s milk processor quickly became a pioneer in New Zealand’s dairy industry, challenging the co-op monopolies of the 1990s by supplying affordable milk directly to Woolworths supermarkets in their own ‘No-frills’ brand.

After the industry deregulated in 1993, Fresha Valley expanded into cow’s milk production, laying the foundations for the business we know today.

Both Paul and George brought deep dairy industry experience to Fresha Valley. Paul had worked at the Whangārei Town Milk Supply Company (WTC), overseeing milk collection, administration, and distribution across the region. George began his career at the Ruawai Dairy Factory, starting on the factory floor and learning every part of the business before going on to manage WTC.

By combining hands on experience with Northland ingenuity, Paul and George built a business known for quality, consistency, and doing what others said couldn’t be done.

the A2 journey

In the early 2000s, Fresha Valley was one of the first independent processors in New Zealand to produce A2 protein milk, securing a national supermarket contract in 2008. It marked another turning point, proof that a small Northland company could lead innovation in a highly competitive industry.

Since then, Fresha Valley has continued to adapt, partnering with the Hargreaves farm in Waipu, a dedicated A2 herd that ensures a consistent local milk supply. The farm’s focus on purely A2 genetics supports Fresha Valley’s ability to deliver premium, fresh A2 protein milk to customers across New Zealand.

how we operate today.

Now employing around 40 staff, Fresha Valley runs a seven day operation where milk is pasteurised and bottled in Waipu, and then distributed throughout Northland and Auckland.

We proudly source milk from local farms and Fonterra to meet demand. With full quality control over processing, every bottle that leaves our plant meets the same strict standards. Fresh, permeate-free milk, processed the traditional way, so that it tastes the way milk should.

our promise

We’re proud to remain family owned and Northland based, producing and delivering fresh milk that generations of Kiwis have grown up with. Whether it’s enjoyed straight from the glass, poured over cereal, or used in a morning coffee, Fresha Valley milk continues to represent the best of local dairy. Delivered fresh daily.
